Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree; in cocoons, a hidden promise; butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity; in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity. In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see. ~~ words & music by Natalie Sleeth, 1986 United Methodist Hymnal

Let's Be Friends!

So, at first, when my dear friend Vanna (aka lvrofantiques) awarded me my first blogger's award "The Sisterhood Award" I tried to keep it light and funny and cute. I alluded to the fact that everybody else had all these awards and I didn't have any and wasn't that just so pitiful and now I'm all happy because V came thru for me! Well, she did it again! This time it's this adorable valentine-looking award to the left that say's "Let's be friends!" "The rules for this award: The blogs with this award are exceedingly charming! These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends! They are not interested in self aggrandizement!" (1. to make greater, more powerful, richer, etc; 2. to make seem greater or more exalted) I had to look that one up! Wanted to be sure I wasn't a self aggrandizer! "The starters of this award hope that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated."

The thing is, that this time when Vanna told me she had a little blog award waiting for me over at http://lvrofantiques.blogspot.com/ I was humbled. These awards are great! They're such cute little illustrations to decorate your blog with but I haven't been doing this for very long and what I've learned is, that we all really care about each other! We may have never met....may never meet in person...but we pray for each other and celebrate each other's accomplishments and show our love and support in any way we can. And not only do we do that for the people we have already grown to know, but we are willing and even eager to pass this love and support and care on to others, actively seeking each other out. Thank you Vanna for showing me what this blogging award is all about! Below are my friends I wish to pass this award on to. Most of them I selected because they're brand new friends for me!

My sweet and very creative niece-n-law Heather at http://butterflygenes.blogspot.com/ I love to read Heather's blog! Not only is she a great wife and mother but she's a most excellent writer! She takes every Friday to write something about why she loves her DH (aka my nephew!)

One of the most creative ladies I've had the pleasure to meet is Athella at http://athellag-ocdesigner.blogspot.com/. I first met Athella on RMS!

One of my newer friends I met strictly thru blogging I mentioned on another post a couple of days ago! Susan at http://thoughtsfromovertherainbow.blogspot.com/. I just know we're going to become great friends!

Also a new friend Darlene at http://darlenesdays-darlene.blogspot.com/. She's got a wonderful blog! I really look forward to following her!

And a new friend Linda whom I just met yesterday at http://ninasnest.blogspot.com/. She was so sweet to respond so quickly when I left a comment on her wonderful blog!

My friend Donna at http://designson47thstreet.blogspot.com/. We're already sisters in faux fleurs!

And I know that Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ has probably received this award many a time but it was thru her Met Monday that I met some of these wonderful ladies! Thank you Susan!

And my new friend Kim at http://kimsdomesticbliss.blogspot.com/. I just had to edit this post because I must've skipped the page I had Kim's blog address on and then she left a comment and I realized she wasn't on my post! I really need to proofread these things better! Kim is a sweetie pie!

The request of this award is to "Please give more attention to these writers. And when you receive your award to pass it on to atleast 8 or so more bloggers who must choose 8 more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award. Also be sure and put a link to their blogs and then let them know they've been selected!"

My family vacations there every year and I keep telling my oldest daughter that someday we will move there so she can become a VOL!!! I do feel like "one of the girls" now and what a great group of girls they are! Just the most wonderful Christian women I have ever "met". I can't help but wonder what I did before blogging!!!

Congratulations on this very sweet "Let's Be Friends" award!!! Isn't this all just so fabulous?...I still stand amazed at the sweet and loving friendships that I've made via the internet (whether it be RMS or blogging)!!! I'm really not able to get out as much as I would like to due to health reasons and this has been such a wonderful and satisfying experience for me! Well my friend...so happy that you stopped by my place! I really do appreciate your suggestions on that wall grouping!!! You were wondering about that piece that I have in the window...it's just a large decorative iron panel that I propped up in the window sill...I love how the light bounces around the room from it! I'm glad that you liked it!

  16. Laura Lu- Good Morning!! Well no bike riding today- 30 mile per hour wind with gust up to 50!

You gave the wonderful suggestion to Chari about hanging her pictures and I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on my breakfast nook. I so want to get this done- I am finally taking down the wallpaper that our guests put up in Nov (hint- they don't know how to wallpaper- thought they were doing me a favor while I was gone for the day- very sweet but....) - This breakfast nook is about 9 X 10 with windows on three sides- fourth side open to kitchen. I have that ceiling tin (small squares) wallpaper that I thought I would wallpaper the ceiling the down the sides part way on the walls with windows. Do you think this will work with being such a small room ? I want to beadboard from floor up to wallpaper- if you think it will work- where should I seperate the 2- ie. I don't think I want to draw a line 1/2 way - should the wallpaper come down or the beadboard come up higher to help the room open up- the ceiling in this room is 8 foot 3 inches high.

Thanks so much for any imput you may have on this!

    Blessings
    mary

  18. Hey Girlfriend...

Hehe...yes, you were the first to visit Beautiful Bunny...hehe! So glad that you came by for a visit and thank you so much for the sweet compliments on my Tea Rose bedroom!!!

Hehe...I remember when you first posted those pretty tassels and I remember commenting how pretty that one would look in my Tea Rose bedroom...with the pinks and greens, it would be perfect! And...if you're thinking about blessing me with one of those, I'd be happy to send you my address...hehe!!!

Didn't Gloria do a fabulous job in making that precious little teacup lamp! I just adore it and of course, everytime I see it I think of her! She makes some of the most beautiful lamps...and you should see her hand-made Victorian shades...Ohhh my, they're fabulous! Well my friend, I think you have a grand idea with the clay pots...making little lamps with them...what a charming idea!!! I know exactly what you mean though, I have soooo many ideas and need more energy to execute them!!!

Okay, I know that I'm writing a book here but I just have to say one more thing...I was just reading through your post on that beautiful shell photo frame that you made...it's absolutely gorgeous!!! You're such a gifted and talented lady!!! I'm sure that your friend adores it!

    Love ya,
    Chari
