Blue Monday!


This wonderful event is sponsored by Sally at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/. I told you last week I had plenty of blue in my house. Here's my living room/great room/den whatever you want to call it! When we moved into this house everything was original 1978. This room was so dark! Ugh!!! Dark paneling, dark beams, dark mantel! My husband was all for painting it. I couldn't believe it 'cause you know how men are about painting wood! Anywho...I looked at all kinds of beiges and ivories and taupes and nothing screamed at me USE ME! I think I told you before that I always buy my fabric first and go from there and I kept seeing in my mind's eye this wonderful color blue on the walls with crisp cream molding and trim to go with my coral fabric on the valances. I thought my DH would never go for it but I found a picture of a room in Veranda magazine that was painted a lighter blue and showed him. He loved the idea! Go figure?! I think it's amazing how different a color can look in different lighting situations!

    Well Laura Lu that is just about the most beautiful room I have ever seen! The window treatments are spectacularly colorful and I'm in love with that secretary. I've been keeping my eye out for one every time I go thrifting. Hope you had a great weekend!

    I am SO glad to see your beauiful living room on here. I've always loved this room. When I left a comment on the post about the lamp, I thought "I'd better go back and see if I've missed anything on Lauralu's blog, and I found this, but I'm afraid nobody else is going to find it. Didn't you just post this today? And then, did you post he "lamp" today also? This beauy needs to be seen! Maybe I'm jus confused. Sure wouldn't be the first time tha happened! laurie

    I'm so glad that you showcased your lovely living room for Blue Monday! Girl, I'll never forget the first time I seen this fabulous room on RMS...it was one of my favorites!!! That has got to be the prettiest shade of blue on your walls...your curtains, gorgeous!!! I just love the color combinations that you used in this room...they're simply beautiful!!! That sofa is gorgeous too...you really have some beautiful furniture pieces, my friend!!! Really, this living room is just perfect! It's elegant yet so warm and cozy!!!
