Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree; in cocoons, a hidden promise; butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity; in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity. In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see. ~~ words & music by Natalie Sleeth, 1986 United Methodist Hymnal

Quote for the day!

I have started following a sweet lady's blog called http://thoughtsfromovertherainbow.blogspot.com. Her name is Susan. Don't you just love the name of her blog! Check out her "thoughts" about Lent. She has given us a wonderful challenge, that if I know most of us, should be no challenge at all! It made me think of this quote from Norman Vincent Peale we have on our bulletin board at Curves where I work...

"The way to Happiness:
Keep your heart free from hate,
Your mind from worry.
Live simply, expect little, give much!
Forget self and think of others.
Try this for a week and you will be surprised!"

  6. Hi Laura lu, Thanks for checking out my red! I love spring colors too, pink is actually one of my favorite colors. I guess when I get tired of red I'll switch it out for pink. lol!

I got the rug at a local rug store here in town when we first moved in this house. I just fell in love with all the color! The brand has worn off, so sorry.

Congrats on being in the magazine! Very cool! Kristen

  8. Laura Lu, that's a beautiful quote. We were in Memphis yesterday, running here and there. Ya'll didn't get much snow at all, compared to what we got! We were so shocked when we headed home and ran into 10 mi. an hr. traffic on the interstate! We were relieved to get home safely. Saw so many cars and trucks off the road. laurie
