Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree; in cocoons, a hidden promise; butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity; in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity. In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see. ~~ words & music by Natalie Sleeth, 1986 United Methodist Hymnal

Don't Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful!! or follow-up to my Curves photo shoot!

It's really hard being a supermodel! People doing your makeup and hair and dressing you in gorgeous clothes...then you have to work! Sit this way, put your hands this way, lean toward me, turn your head that way but keep your eyes on me, chin up, pull your shoulders back, sit up real straight, NOW RELAX! Whew! I'm exhausted! And the endless powdering of the T-zone and adjusting the clothes and on and on and on!!! I'm kidding! I had a blast! Everyone was so nice! They kept telling me how gorgeous I looked! Heck, I would've come for the free lunch! I wasn't worried about how I looked! Now, I have to admit, they did my makeup and hair totally different than I normally do and it's hard to think you look okay when your hair isn't at all like you like it! They wanted a natural feel, which really meant I didn't have half the eye shadow I'm used to wearing! And she filled in my eyebrows! They're lucky to even get plucked by me! And girls I actually used an eyelash curler! Under strict supervision of course! I met wonderful people and thoroughly enjoyed my day...and it was all day! I got there at 9:00 am and my final shot took place about 4:45 pm! Whew again! I have to admit I was ready by that time to get back into my jeans, merrell's and my son's peach polo button-down shirt and wipe those eyebrows off! I'll post some pics if they send me any! and of course if I don't look totally fat in them! It's true what they say about the camera! Atleast that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

  1. Hi Laura Lu! Oh, I'm so excited for you! First because you've come to Blogland! And secondly, because you're going to be famous! Oh, that's marvelous that you may be in the magazine! I can tell just by your little bitty id photo - you're a knockout! Please post your pics if they send them to you! I've read through all of your posts and you're doing just great! I'm so impressed with your precious tassels. I'm just gonna have to break down and try to make me one too!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  2. Found you by way of Heather. Your tassels are great, and what fun being in a magazine shoot. You have definitely inspired me to get started on those tassels. Jackie

  3. Wow! Laura Lu! I had no idea so much was involved in a photo shoot! Please keep us posted as to which issue it is, so I can be sure to pick up my Diane magazine when I'm at Curves. Have a great weekend...Debbie

  4. Laura you are so funny! Gosh it is rough being beautiful. Hope you get some pics, can't wait to see them. Love, Cindy

  5. I guess being beautiful has it's price! What a long day that was. I can't wait to see the pictures. Another celeb I "know"! We're going to have to get together, so I won't have to put "know" in quotations when I "talk" about you! laurie

  6. Oh my goodness! I don't get around to blogland much but your sweet and funny comments over at Laurie's made me want to zip on over here! :-)
I've read everything on your blog and I love it! And you are so pretty! I hope you'll share the photo shots they took of you when you get them!
Thank you again for your kind words! L~

  7. Oh Laura Lu, that sounds exhausting but so much fun! I can't wait to see pictures...Christine

  8. Just so you know, your nephew spent $17 on an eyelash curler for me for Christmas! Only because I BEGGED him to! My eyelashes are stick straight...the eyelash curler is my very good friend. : )

    I'm lovin' the tassels!

  9. How fun! You will have to post the article when in comes out for us!! I have been reading about the danger of jeolousy creeping in our lives as Christians so am praying that God will help me not envy your great body!!! LOL

I went over to your spaces to have a lookie at your mantle again (it's been ages since I have been over there- had to look at your pretty bedroom again too- I have a picture of the bedroom in my inspiration file!)

I like what you did with your mantle and like the way your mantle is a bit higher. My mantle is divided in half horizontally (SP?) which doesn't help with the length of it!

If you click on my Christmas Tour button on the right hand side there is a picture of the mantle( 2nd picture) -
after you transform my mantle maybe you can help with my flabby arms!!!!

  10. That WAS a really long day!! Guess those supermodels don't have it so easy after all! I hope you'll share it with us! I've never known a supermodel before *winks* Vanna

  11. I know how you feel...I was a model once...perhaps you saw in a magazine? I had a black mark thru my face and the heading said Don't wear these pants with this shirt? LOL just kidding!! I am so happy for you!!
    Just don't be a Diva!!!
    Love Lilly

Hello and God Bless! Thank you for visiting "Hidden Promise"! It's wonderful to get comments from you all! I think they are a great way to show our love, care and support of each other! Have a wonderful day! Lauralu :)
