Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree; in cocoons, a hidden promise; butterflies will soon be free! In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There's a song in every silence, seeking word and melody; there's a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me. From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity; in our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity. In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see. ~~ words & music by Natalie Sleeth, 1986 United Methodist Hymnal

And then I see my good RMS bud Vanna ("winks!") at http://lvroftiques.blogspot.com/ Delusions of Grandeur has a new posting and lo and behold she gave me an award! Vanna has the most gorgeous antiques in her home! Believe me when I say that her home is not a grand delusion! C'est Magnifique!! Most of you already know her, but if you don't, go over there right now and say hi to a wonderfully funny and sweet lady! I have to say I feel very honored to be one of her recepients of this award!

Mary Ellen at http://megardengal.blogspot.com/, "Mary's Meanderings". Her home is as sweet as she is!

  11. Mornin' Lauralu...

Thank you so much for stopping by...I'm sure considering your suggestions for the wall grouping...I appreciate your input!

Girl, I have tried to leave messages on your blog for two days now...I'm hoping that it lets me leave this one today. Every time I get ready to post the comment...it gets hung up on the security letters and won't go through!

Thank you so much for the "Sisterhood" award, you're just the sweetest for thinking of me and congratulations on receiving this beautiful award...you deserve it, my friend!!!

    Have a wonderful Wednesday...

  12. Hi Lauralu,
I would just go talk to the folks at the Asst. Living home. Sometimes they will negotiate the rate down some. I'm not sure which state you live in...different states have different programs. Ask if they have a Social Worker there in the Asst. Living home and she mays have some suggestions. Depending on how much SS you Mom gets, she might qualify for SSI but that still wouldn't be enough to stay in most Asst. Living. Wish I had more info. for you...you're best best is to talk with the SW in the Asst. Living facility...hope she has some helpful info. for you.

  13. Lauralu- I have been having the same trouble Chari has had with leaving comments- Well it looks like hers came through so hopefully I can slide right behind her!

As to the slipcover project- I am so with you- I don't know why it seems so huge to me but...
I have a friend who just decided to recover her couch one day and she did a fab job! I wish I was close by to her again for moral, cutting, and sewing support!!

Thank you so much for the award- It truly is one of my favorites as it just speaks what this blogging thing is all about!

  14. My dear Lauralu, I am so touched by this award, it is so appropriate for all of us "sisters' isn't it. I am sorry to be so late in coming to accept this and congratulate you on your award, but my youngest son has been very ill and was hospitalized. He just got released yesterday and he is doing so much better. You understand when I say my world stopped until he was out of the woods. Well dear thank-you so much and love, Cindy

  15. Mornin' Girlfriend...

Just had to stop by to tell you that I tried out your suggestions on the placement of the art in my wall grouping! I'm so glad that you suggested it...it DOES look better!!! I added one more small picture to the bottom (right hand side). I'll have to take photos again and post them! I'm still thinking about doing the fleur de lis in gold...I took it down yesterday and sanded more of the white paint off of it...it does look better being darker!

Anyway, just had to let you know. Thank you so much...I sure appreciated your suggestions! If you have any more let me know, it's so easy to be "blind-sighted" while in the middle of a project! Hehe!

    Have a great day, Sweetie!
    Chari
